About

We are The Gōshū Nihon Bijutsu Tōken Hozon Kai (Australian Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords) or 'Gōshū Kai' for short.

The Gōshū Kai is an organisation of private collectors dedicated to the study, preservation and promotion of Japanese swords and other related artforms.

The goals of the Gōshū Kai are to:

  • Create a network of like-minded collectors and enthusiasts across all of Australia.

  • Provide opportunities for our members to gather and share their knowledge.

  • Promote the artforms of the Japanese sword to the general public, through exhibitions, displays, and lectures.

We’re also the official Australian branch of the NBTHK, the world's leading authority on Japanese swords.
